Though intended to be supportive places for social and personal growth, schools may sometimes turn into hostile environments for LGBTQ people, characterized by mistreatment, bullying, and a lack of understanding. This essay seeks to bring attention to the difficulties these students face by illuminating their experiences and providing insights into the complexities they face and the impact these experiences have on their mental health. The significance of creating more accepting and compassionate learning environments that put every student’s mental health first.
